Providing her with a list of suggestions regarding what she should eat (i.e. "brown meat", bacon fat, chocolate), drink (brandy and water, Vichy water), and avoid (strong tea, pork, veal, salad and raw vegetables) for her health; recommending calomel salve and a "quassia cup" for liver complaints; writes of the death of the sister of "poor Mrs. H. Parnell" from an "inward cancer"; notifying her that she might have her doctor send Madame Blaze de Bury a prescription; relating news of friends and acquaintances; mentioning that Lord Derby's speech at Mansion House has "done away with much of the unfavourable impression left by his previous one in the Ho. of Lords" and that an article has been published in the Edinburgh review by "our friend H. Reeve"; lamenting the loss of Lady Morgan.
