Summary
Saying that Henri's letter of January 29 was one of the most remarkable and interesting that Henri ever wrote to him as it cast a clear light on a situation that was still vague for him and on a future that seemed mysterious and uncertain. Henri was able to dissipate his doubts with a stroke of his pen. He says that even if the future Henri foresees is serious and threatening, it is still better to look at it straight in the eyes rather than understanding it only halfway. Now, he says, is ready to undertake anything. He hopes that Henri will continue to inform him of anything that he thinks is necessary. He can't tell Henri anything more--Henri understands the situation and the writer's well enough so that he doesn't need any explanations. He says that the information Henri sent him from Austria seems to be only too true and that he is tormented by the situation, which is only more of a reason why he shouldn't remain idle.
