Writing to her in Trouville and telling her how much he misses her; describing his daily schedule; promising that when she returns, if he is still in Paris, he will arrange a dinner for her; saying that he envies her stay at the Villa Saint-Jean and quoting several lines from Baudelaire on the subject of the sea; expressing his grief at the death of the Duchesse de Gramont, whose funeral has been his only outing since Louisa's departure; apologizing for not writing more and explaining that his eyes are tired.
