At foot of title-page, immediately below date, "par L.P. Vallain", probably the French writing master Louis Pierre Vallain, who was received as master into his profession in 1744 and died in 1799.
Written in black and red ink, with a full-page illustrated frontispiece executed in black ink and ink wash, with frontispiece title: "Livre de prieres à l'usage de son Altesse Sérénnissime Monseigneur Le Prince de Condé".
Manuscript composed of an illustrated frontispiece, title page, and 66 numbered pages of prayers, hymns, and devotional texts intended for the use of the young Louis Joseph de Bourbon, Prince de Condé.
