Title with decorative black ink and wash frame, signed at bottom with an illegible signature and dated "1757".
With 45 numbered maps, drawn on recto and verso of individual horizontal sheets which have been folded and bound at center.

Summary: 

Title-page, alphabetical list of places, and map legend, followed by a series of 45 numbered manuscript double-spread maps executed in color in pen and ink and wash illustrating the route from Paris to Gravelines and passing through St-Denis, Luzarches, Chantilly, Clermont, Fitzjames, Amiens, Abbeville, Boulogne, and Gravelines; leagues of 2,400 toises (old measure of Iength, 6 feet, almost 2 meters) beginning from the courtyard of the Paris Palace are marked along the route; with notes recording the post divisions (relays), roads, and noteworthy sights and structures.

Binding: 
Contemporary black morocco tooled in gilt with the arms of Louis XV; pink watered silk endpapers.
