Recounting her difficulties in locating copies of the French periodical the "Revue des deux mondes"; informing her that Col. (Thomas-Chaloner Bisse) Challoner (1788-1872) of Surrey is to be married to Miss (Henrietta Emma Helena) De Salis; relating news of family, including a visit from her brother and sister-in-law and "Miss H. Caldwell"; mentioning that she sent Madame de Bury's last letter to TW(?) Barlow of the British Association of Science and that he responded that he would procure a copy of the "Revue des deux mondes" as soon as possible in order to read Madame de Bury's article.
