Summary
Saying she is on her way home and will be coming through London and would like to see him and asking if she would still find him at 11 Adelaide Terrace; saying "I hope Mrs. Henley is quite strong again - & that the summer has brought you sunny days. I have often thought of you - I believe that I think too much of my friends - My mind is so occupied with thinking of them, that I have no time to write to them - Less affectionate people succeed far better with letter-writing - I observe;" saying they have had a very good time and relating all the sights she has seen and what she has done; adding "My boys are capital - all 3 - feeding on all they see & learn, & growing fast. Austin stays at Göttingen for the winter - I shall miss him terribly - but it will be good for him. Fleeming is very well - & in fullest energy. We are all in love with Styria & the Styrians - We 'yodel' & we "drelin"(?) - & we wear green felt hats with chamois beards stuck into them - We are infatuated - How often I have wished that you "could see what I have seen" - of all kinds, perhaps, most of all - the dancing of the Styrian peasants - For the first time in my life I danced with a man who waltzed better than I did - A Styrian peasant - But I come back to my beginning - shall I come & see you?"
