Summary
Declaring that an unidentified woman "is the very worst woman in the world", stating that the writer has written to her "to let her know that she is found out" and that her "denial of the lies she told P de G [?] will no longer avail her"; referring to a letter written by the recipient to "C.", speculating that he may not be to blame, and advising the recipient to "keep well with him - but let him know he is watched"; countering reports that "Cav. [i.e. Cavaignac] is favorable to England" and pointing out that "his dear" newspaper (Le) National has proven hostile to England "in the style of the old Jacobin press under Marat"; commenting on European politics, complaining about the false reports circulated by Le National, criticising (François) Arago, and bitterly condemning Cavaignac's lust for power and his tactics in preparing for and brutally suppressing the June Days Uprising.
