Summary
Saying "Very glad one of my letters reached you. I must thank you for your collaberateur's address. I will write to him. Should you carry out your intention of writing another play i trust I may have the pleasure of reading it, if better than the Deacon it will be a big thing. The deacon I think cannot fail to be successful in Scotland, but the subject is too local, to command success in England, tho' the power of the play might carry it. Trusting I shall be able to arrange to produce the Deacon;" including an autograph note on the verso from Stevenson to Henley, signed with initials saying "This is not my criticism, you must Read. I could not criticise, I was too [illegible]. The criticism will come in time. I think Haldane Crichton should be encouraged at all risks. It would even be something to be damned. That would teach."
