Summary
Urging her to come to Paris, saying that Sir William (Bowyer-Smijth) will be going to England to attend some meetings and shoot grouse, informing her that her friend Mr. Norton is very ill and not expected to recover and wondering "what will become of the unfortunate woman he lives with I feel so sorry for her"; relating news of friends and acquaintances and mentioning that she dined with her "poor Brother's" (a reference to her brother, Sir Henry Meux, 1817-1883) doctor a few days ago, adding "he has left he says it was impossible to live any longer with Lady M - & really the things he told me about that woman pass all belief"; informing her that their first floor will be available to let and wondering if it might do for the Fitzpatricks, mentioning a visit with Lady Derring (i.e. Dering) who is hoping that her son will be sent there (i.e. to Paris) as attaché, and remarking that "the more people we can get here the better".
