Expressing her disappointment at learning that Madame Blaze de Bury has cancelled her plans to visit her and wondering when she will be able to see her; noting that the letter has been carried by her son (William Bowyer-Smijth), "who is on his way to England to be ready for his appointment when Ld. Malmesbury chooses to give it he has promised it, & wishes the boy to be on the spot"; asking if Henri Blaze de Bury is a friend of Lord Malmesbury, describing her anxiety to have her son appointed attaché in Paris, and suggesting that "a little help from a private friend might be of great use"; writing in regards to a parcel she needs to have sent from Paris, to her and Lord Normanby's disappointment that she will not be coming, and wishing that Lord Brougham would visit her in Florence; noting that (Blaze de Bury's daughter) Yetta "always bid fair to be very pretty" and that "yr spoiling yr baby a little will rejoice Mrs. Broughams heart she used always to say that poor child was so ill used"; asking if she has seen Lord Chelsea (i.e., Henry Charles Cadogan, 4th Earl Cadogan), and if he is any improvement on (Henry George) Howard.
