Summary
Writing that she has been too busy and that she will be leaving with her family for England, and regretting that they will miss seeing her, should she visit Hanover; noting that "the King & Queen will be charmed to see you" and that the English governess to the royal family, Miss Collins, is dying to make her acquaintance ("The Collins is all in all & naturally detested by all the Germans who are jealous of her ... her mother is one[?] sister to the present Sir John Stuart Vice Chancellor of England, she made a very imprudent marriage with a Mr. Collins who was a clerk in some office & threw her off but offered to take Miss C. & educate her with his own children. However she said no if my uncle will not notice my Mother, I will not be beholden to him."); recounting how she recommended Miss Collins for employment as a governess and how successful she has proven to be with the royal family; discussing the travel plans of her family, the Wilkinsons, along with the politics of the court at Hannover, and a recent visit from "Her Majesty & the Princess & Collins last week"; stating that the "our ambassador Mr. Gordon" has been removed to Stuttgart, and relating further news and gossip of various court and diplomatic figures and their families, including the marriage of Kate Sneyd ("of Paris notoriety") and Sir (George Glynn) Petre; describing construction and recent improvements in Hannover; anticipating her upoming trips to Paris and London, and plans for her girls to make their debut in England.
