Summary
Informing her that they have made the acquaintance of the musician (Ernst) Haberbier and describing their appreciation for his playing; saying that he was pleased with "Ella" ("he played with her and they fantasized together") and expressing her wish that he could be her teacher; relating her unsuccessful attempts to arrange for him to play at court ("Platen told him he could not play at court because he was engaged in a process against his wife!!!"), remarking that Madame Nottes is received to sing at court, despite her association with Niepen, wondering how the people there have "got hold of" Haberbier's history, speculating that it may have been the Baroness de Grimmenstein(?) who spread the story, and expressing her disgust with the situation; imparting news of acquaintances and family as well as local gossip; referring to plans to send Blaze de Bury's daughter Yetta away in preparation for Madame Blaze de Bury's expected confinement; mentioning a recent stay in Brunswick where she was entertained by the Duke and lamenting the current war in Europe; discussing her social engagements in Hannover and expressing her desire to live in Paris.
