Summary
Requesting that she send him a third epistle to inform him of how she recovered from the horrid shock she must have felt in the "dreadful catastrophe of Lady Wallace's house"; writing that her last letter was unanswerable; (dated October 26th) commenting on the content of her last letter which differed from her others; writing 2 poems "A little, upright, pert, tart tripping Wight ..." (12 lines from To R***** G***** of F*****, Esq.) and "The old cock'd hat, the brown surtout the same" (8 lines from from To R***** G***** of F*****, Esq.); stating that she will find in Johnson's Scots Musical Museum the pieces such as they are signed with one or the other initials R, B, or X; hoping to see her at Moreham-mains if she makes it up here in the next 2 or 3 months, from there he will go to Haddington and then Dunlop & Kilmaur's cow-fairs; writing that he believes he should move to Nithsdale at Martinmass and is getting a loan for a neighboring house until his is ready.
