Summary
Concerning issues related to a Commission decision involving Fettes College; saying "I have heard indirectly that the Commission are not at all likely to disturb Fettes, if certain conditions, perfectly practicable, are carried out. In the meantime nothing can be done, & if my information is correct, even the consideration of the question is not urgent;" setting forth corrections in the Greek phrases that need to be made in Knight's Wordsworth proof; concluding "We are having most dismal weather here. I hope you may have more daylight at the Lakes. I am grieved to hear about the yew trees. They were to me also a sanctuary, & I shall never forget the time I have spent under them."
