Summary
Discussing tickets for Robert Browning's interment; saying that he received Knight's postcard about Browning but has not had time to deal with it before now; adding "I am doing my utmost - but you cannot imagine the pressure for admission : [illegible] calculates [illegible] 3000 applications for space which will hold only 650;" referring to his hopes of getting Knight a ticket for the "...South Transept where the interment is. I could not get one for myself - but I have represented that you are a public man. It is possible I may get you one - but I cannot be sure. It depends on Duckworth who is now at Osborne. If this fails I think I shall be able to put you in to the seat assigned to me in the Choir - which will be narrow & I could go with you. If the worst comes to the worst, we can get you inside some how...You will put up here? Since my wife's death I have had to...;" the remaining portion of the letter is missing.
