Summary
Showing her appreciation to him for not publishing her early work and defending her earlier analogy; thanking him for his suggestion about a public statement regarding the stories and that she has since had her lawyer make a definite statement regarding them in her will; apologizing for the tone of her previous letter and shares why she reacted the way she did based on interactions from other publishers using her material; explaining why she wishes not to have her early books reprinted because it would impact her correspondence which she details to him; adding that correspondence has already delayed writing her new book, and she could not take on anymore; stating "but I am sure you will admit that is is much more interesting and less fatiguing to work on one's new book than to be perpetually answering questions about the old ones"; adding that if he had been more clear of why he was asking for information in his first letter, her tone of reply would have been different.
