Summary
Responding that "The bohemian girl" was never published in book form and that it is a rather immature work; saying that she has no copy of "The troll garden" except one which belonged to Sarah Orne Jewett with her annotations, which she cannot lend; adding that unreprinted stories are without merit--such as "A death in the desert," which is such a weak story; (in postscript) writing that she is interested in seeing his book when it is done and that she doesn't agree that this is a "high tide" in literature in English.
