Summary
Apologizing for not answering her letter, but she was in the hospital with a sore throat and high fever; mentioning that she still sees Dr. Frank Ober from time to time, although her right hand is just as good as it was and her handwriting has improved; asking if she made it down to see Jack sing on March 15th at St. Paul's Chapel while she was in the hospital and Miss Lewis was visiting friends; dicussing a course Jack is taking at Columbia Law School; writing how life is so stressful, as are the events in the world; (in manuscript) understanding that she met Sigrid Undset at Mount Holyoke; saying how glad she is that American readers have been willing to read Undset's Return to the future in spite of its praise for Japan and discusses some of Undset's views; adding that Gunnar's daughter is her best book.
