Summary
Writing that she meant to go up to the Lord Jeffery to work for a few weeks after the holidays, but her mother had a stroke in California, where she is staying with her brother, Douglass; stating that she will have to go there for a few weeks and give up working altogether; wishing her mother was in San Francisco instead of Long Beach, Los Angeles; adding that this year doesn't seem to be shaping up to be a good one either; sending her well wishes for 1929 and that she gave away all of her handkerchiefs last week except the ones that they sent her.
