Summary
Replying that she could never be persuaded to submit to a "Portable Cather" published by Viking because "they seem derivative of the torrent of anthologies which very nearly wiped out all the dignity and nearly all the profits of the legitimate publishing business"; questioning why Sergeant is writing a new book that she is interested in but wasiting her time working on an anthology; writing that she thinks Alfred Knopf is in England, but he would not have any dealings with a "Portable" when his publications are selling steadily; wishing her happy days and good luck on her new book to to forget about this insidious Portable suggestion.
