Summary
Writing that she returned from New Brunswick yesterday and is sorry to have missed her; saying that she is glad she likes "Claude" (One of ours); explaining how It was exhausting to do and simply took over her life, but she now feels lonely for its company; informing her that she keeps getting accusing letters from pacifists who think the book extols war; adding that her only concern was its impact on her character; suggesting that if she had titled it simply "Claude," as she wanted to, the point would be clearer, but she does feel proud of it as a work of fiction.
Commenting on public response to One of Ours, especially criticism by pacifists.
