Sharing the story of a prominent failed engagement in Delhi, between Captain Gwatkin and Miss Smith. Reporting that Edward Ridge is in poor health after his injury in battle, that the Kennedys will be leaving town soon, expressing her shock at learning of "the death of that sweet interesting little girl Maria Cecilia", and lamenting the recent deaths of other children.
