Two other versions of this manuscript exist: a fair copy in Jarry's hand at the Ransom Center and another fair copy at the Musée Pont Aven. The latter was transcribed into Gauguin's Livre d'Or by the artist Eric Forbes-Robertson and dated July 1, 1894.
The page is undated, but Jarry created the manuscript at some point between viewing the exhibition of Gauguin's Tahitian paintings at the Galeries Durand-Ruel in November 1893 and July 1, 1894.
