Summary
Writing that she is very ill, that her cold has subsided, but that she is weaker and still confined to the couch. Hoping that the symptoms will improve once the first trimester of her pregnancy is over. Writing that "the food I take though the lightest and plainest I scarcely ever retain, my sleep is unrefreshing" and that "the organs in my stomach seem to have lost their tone & without any very violent pain I am as feeble a feather would knock me down" and adding "something tells me your prediction will be verified, and I will never be a mother." Reporting that the doctor has given her "strengthening pills," but that Alexander told her to ask her mother's advice before taking them.
