Summary
Concerning an autotype she had sent to the Fields of St. Peter; expressing her happiness that the Fields "both like the impulsive Peter & the curling waves & the strong Hand of Love, is indeed precious - I may allay y'r fears at once about dear C.E.S. - I don't think that slip &etc did her any real harm & perhaps ere this you have heard that she has settled with her landlady to take on her Mount Pleasant Lodge indefinitely yet without being tied to it - I am convinced no other place w'd suit her so much - & she has now a succession of friends always with her - & her relations think they can enjoy her there really more than if she were in the neighbourhood of London - When April begins she is to peregrinate a little - & hopes in the autumn or before to accomplish the visit to St. Ives she had to give up last year - Did she write to you about a little bird that sang while she was at a Friends meeting? it was quite worthy of St. Francis of Assisi - if you only knew shorthand I w'd pass you on her letter - Alas! I have not time to copy it;" relating the details of the nursing care she is giving a friend; adding "Such accounts of Riviera earthquakes - just now a letter comes from Bordighera - my dear MacDonald's house spared - but so many cracked & ready to fall - MacD's have taken in shoals of people from shaken & split hotels!"
