Summary
Concerning a gift she sent to Mrs. Field; saying "I have just received your few lines dearest Mrs. Field telling of the arrival of the little old oval Bartolizzis - I ought to have told you about them...I wanted you to have something in your house that was familiar to my eyes - they used to hang over my Mothers dressing Table with 4 others of the same kind & she was fond of them - & told me the stories of them in my earliest days - It is such a pleasure to me to look at the dear little twin Candlesticks that you sent me - it seems to bring you nearer - We are linked with one another & with God who is the First Lover as Dante says in a thousand ways & perhaps one day we shall see all the little Gossamer threads that have bound us together glistening in His Light...I have been at this old fashioned & now again new fashioned watering place for a month & have much benefitted [sic] I think from the baths & drinking the waters - I have just completed the term of cure & hope to return next week to Orme fortified for the struggle with one of our terrible (in more senses than one) Winters in London."
