Responding to her mother's concerns that Maria's dancing at parties will harm her health and claiming that "I have never enjoyed my health so uninterrupted for years. Writing she is "quite glad you will have little Charley to occupy your attention," and commenting on how to pay for his schooling. Writing that she and Alexander have sent orders for supplies for her. Reporting a controversy between "Henry's brother William" and a Dr. Gilchrist back in England, having to do with Dr. Gilchrist's reformist political views.
