Summary
Reporting that she has received her mother's letter from Barrackpore. Commenting briefly on her mother's plans to remain in India for the next year. Recalling a letter she received from her aunt in England, dated 2 July. Writing that her aunt was then awaiting her sister Harriet's arrival. Also recalling a letter from her aunt in England which stated that they "had got a cellar large enough to hold the malmsey which had reached them and that dear Granny drank a glass every day at 12 o'clock." Reporting that "My cousin Alexander is still in employ and is gone a voyage of Discovery in the Conway Captain Hall to which ship he got exchanged from the Severn ... he is likely to be absent from England three years and was to sail in August." Discussing visits received from several friends in Nasirabad.
