Reporting that she has suffered from headaches for the past two days that prevented her from writing. Commenting on her mother's journey to Calcutta, and her decision of whether to sail from there to England. Reporting the arrival of Captain Roberts and commenting on his character, writing that "one has heard so much of this Captain Roberts and what he was to do and make others do and the numerous things he was to have that the original dwindles into a nonentity." Writing that "the foolish Fagans are making themselves more & more disliked." Commenting on some issues concerning Charlotte and Mr. Halliday.
