Summary
Asking his help in getting medical treatment from Dr. [Arnold] Pagenstecher for her maid [Marguerite] Tatry; saying "The reason I telegraphed to you was that I was anxious to hear what Pagenstecher had said about my maid Tatry and whether massage was a good thing for her eyes, as I wished to lose no time in procuring a good masseuse. From what I gather from your letter I understand that Pagenstecher wishes to see Tatry & thinks a slight operation necessary, ought this to be done at once or could it wait till January? - I confess it will be very inconvenient for me to let Tatry go to Wiesbaden at once, January would suit me better, but of course if an immediate operation is necessary, she must certainly go - May I leave it in your kind hands to communicate with Pagenstecher on the subject & please inform me as soon as you hear from him. Would it not be a good thing to try the effect of massage first for a time? I should also like to know what Pagenstecher would charge for my sending my maid to him for the operation? I hope all these questions will not worry you & that you will let me hear soon - I am glad that dear Mama is so much better, we owe you a great deal for your kind care of her & I only hope now she will really continue to take rest & care. I am so glad that Pagenstecher reassured Mama on the subject of my brother's little boy's eyes, it is a great comfort to the Parents."
