Summary
Asking for pain relief; saying "I write to say that the Carlsbad has no satisfactory result & I believe does in no way agree with me, as I was in pain yesterday. I take it in the morning as prescribed in hot water & have breakfast an hour afterwards. Yet particularly today, as I said before, without sufficient result. I therefore ask if it would not be better to revert to the [illegible] Water which I find answers so well. The Powder I take 1/2 hour after eating, 3 times a day but I do not know if they will equally suit or go with the latter water. I was in pain as if I had been poisoned, last night, tho' only for a short time it was disagreeable & made me think to ask you, if I could change the remedy & yet take the Powder, which I am sure makes me feel much better. Forgive this pencilled letter & believe me."
