Summary
Writing that she is recovering from a bout of illness and that she can barely walk, and will therefore be unable to visit her mother as planned; informing her that her sister Harriet is ill but hopes that her upcoming journey to England will improve her condition; consoling her mother for her "lost happiness" (an allusion to the death of her husband, Lieutenant-Colonel Edward William Butler, on August 1, 1819).
