Summary
Describing his travels since he left England in October; relating the customs and manners and sights he has observed on his travels from Hamburg to Weimar, Leipsig, Dresden, Prague, Vienna, Trieste and Venice; describing the architecture of Venice and adding "The men & the women spend the greatest part of their time in the coffee houses which are very numerous. They are hospitable, polite & friendly, besides being witty & musical a strange contrast to the unsociable and unamiable manners of the nation we had just quitted;" adding that he hopes to see the ruins of the palaces on the Brenta before continuing on to Constantinople.
