Summary
Thanking them for the gifts of silver; saying "We think the silver so lovely, its always a pleasure to look at them for their own beautiful sakes, and also for you dear ones. Every little thing is so perfectly finished, such a true work of art : it was good of you giving us such exquisite things - You can't think how much they have been admired and we feel so proud of them. I was paying some visits or should have written before...I do so hope, dear Mr. Field, that you are suffering as little as possible; your brave example often helps me when I have pain I remember how noble you are in yours and I feel ashamed to complain of my light share. We are just starting off, very hurriedly, as Meta has been ill & the doctor ordered her to Switzerland & there to Homburg, at 2 days notice - It was quite a dizzy hurry to get every thing arranged & wound up."
