Summary
Thanking her for her kind letter and reporting "I am really going on remarkably well thanks to the Colchicum which I took for the first time the night before last and which fortunately agrees exceedingly well with me, in five hours after I had taken it I it relieved the pain and swelling on my ankle and I have been gaining ground so rapidly ever since that I flatter myself to be able to go out the day after tomorrow though I suppose it may take a few days more before I shall be able to walk...On Sunday I have to go to Newmarket, but will if possible call on you before that. Adieu my dear Friend let me hear how you are going on."
