Summary
Relating what a pleasant time they are having, how kind the Duke and Duchess have been to them and how they prepared a special feast in honor of their sixth wedding anniversary "...and to my not agreable surprise the Duke and the boys fired a salute under our windows and as they thought six years did not afford enough firing they fired for months instead of years. However, yesterday we returned the compliment as well as we could, it being the Duke's fortieth birthday, and we drank so much champagne and Cup of our own make that we have all got sick headaches not excepting the children who down to a little boy of three dined with us...The Duke is obliged to attend the Coronation as Constable of Ireland and he and Lady Caroline are going over on the 1st of September so the Duchess will be all alone. Lady Caroline will call in Tilney St and hopes you will give orders for her to be admitted;" adding social news and concluding "Only think of our being married six years. Time passes dreadfully quick. One always dreads the future not being as happy as the past and I want no change nor could it be for the better I think so at last."
