Summary
Relating news of a political crisis and the conflict between Whigs and Tories; saying "The poor little Queen is in a sad [illegible] & terribly unpopular...thro the Villainous conduct of the Whigs - They, for their own purposes solely surrounded her with their Partisans & she now stands alone without Friend or Cavalier - all yesterday she was in a sad state - did not rise to demur & went to bed at nine o clock - She had not sent for any one last night - tho Melbourne I believe had recommended her to see the Duke - but some of the Whigs it is said have tried to persuade her that Lord Spencer might reorganize the Party & keep in his [illegible] Friends;" continuing with more political thoughts and then dating the letter "7 o clock . The Duke of Wellington was with her here this morning and Peel followed - and He has a carte Blanche but I hear there is some desire on her part to keep the Household - some of the Ladies - but it is thought some of the Men & few of the Ladies will wish to stay...It is said the Queen sent for Lord Liverpool the morning before she saw the Duke of Wellington."
