Summary
Reporting that he had arrived at Brighton and found Lady Munster "better than I expected but I do fervently hope we shall get over this horrid business before the 5th of July on which day I must return to London & shall be away a week as I must then lay the Keys at the Queen's Feet;" reporting that Lord Egremont was well and expected at Brighton on Friday; referring to the sale of Mrs. Fitzherbert's house saying "I wish I could buy it - but perhaps you may still find a private arrangement without going to auction;" relating details of his father's [William IV] Will saying he "...had £970,000, little short of a million...I think my Family are shocked and disapproved & several persons in the Palace have not hesitated to remark on it...Admit me right - after all our discussion - did I not know him to his hearts Core & however I bless God - that I was allowed to smooth his Pillow - or attended it - for the Queen's jealousy, tho she could not do it herself - prevented me - Pray give me some news & tell me how George's gout goes on - I am much thinner to my astonishment, & fitting in my clothes...I have not suffered, but from general anxiety - I am happy you have the children;" relating news of friends.
