Summary
Expressing gratitude for her two letters "...as they are covered by your writing - which stamped them with value like the hand of the Sec't to the Bank of England to a note;" discussing his plans, thanking her for her thoughts of "poor Frederick - His bright days & visions are indeed over - shine have long been tarnished - but if he is like me, the polish will return to your Society as my brightest moments are, when with you...I believe we have bought Lady Keiths House - and hope to get into it in October for it requires additions and improvements - Lord Egremont came last night quite well & in excellent spirits - I only hope he will not expose himself to the Hot air & cold wind - I wrote a very cruel letter to the Dow: at Bushy and shall take her on Saturday on my way to Town - for a personal Visit - So, I shall kill two Queens with one stone - besides a Duchess at Bagshot - economy of time & labour." Included with this letter is a fifth page which discusses the sale of Steine House, Mrs. Fitzherbert's house in Brighton. Maria Fitzherbert died in March 1837 and her house was sold later that year.
