Summary
Saying he received her kind letter and "...the assurance of your having passed a good night has given me great pleasure - Do, for Gods sake, take care of yourself...any misfortune to you - morally or physically would cut like a weapon with a double edge - and with regard to myself would be a barbed blade, never to be extracted...The weather was so bad yesterday that we could not ride & I only saw Lord Egremont for a moment, who appeared very unwell & has not dined out of his room for two days - You will be sorry to hear that poor Lucy Jeff is, I fear, sinking - gradually & without pain - in a sort of stupor & her pulse flagging - but I will write to you at the last moment...Lord Egremont complains very much & says he is going to be very ill - and there is a Sea Fog coming on at present enough to make all Brighton ill - indeed everybody is & some choaking;" relating news of family and friends and adding "Your children all well - Seymour very naughty - Blanche rides tomorrow."
