The letter is undated however a penciled notation on the verso, appearing to be in the hand of Constance Dawson-Damer, "This must be written after 1837 when my father took name of Damer." Mrs. Fitzherbert died on March 27, 1837.
The place of writing is not provided but it appears to have been Brighton.

Summary
Saying she is happy to know the children have arrived safely despite "...the account of the storms in yr neighborhood were frightful...I have been suffering greatly from another attack of Rheumatism but I am much better today...Viney & some of the Servants go to Town tomorrow & I hope early in the next week to be able to go there myself but I shall certainly not move till the weather is more favorable;" cautioning Minney to take of herself "...& dont be imprudent - numbers are suffering from Cold & Inflammation - I pray god that you & yours may all escape this frightful discord as raging as it does every where;" asking, in a postscript, whether she should direct letters to her at Tilney Street.
