The letter is undated however she states that she will not rent Sherwood Lodge. Mrs. Fitzherbert owned Sherwood Lodge from 1820 until 1825. The place of writing is not provided, is unclear from the contents although it is likely she wrote from Brighton.

Summary
Saying she is sending to Town a shawl she left behind and expressing her hope that Sally "...makes the House comfortable to you - I fear in the eating way you will be badly serv'd tho' I believe old Sally can make you a very good bread Pudding or roast you a chicken but if you have the Intention of dining at Home I will send a Kitchen Maid up to you;" saying she will not let Sherwood and adding "The Duke of Newcastle is a very great Grub (as every body tells me) besides having ten children who would destroy Sherwood in a week's time;" asking her to write often and hoping she will enjoy her time there.
