The letter is simply dated "Wednesday Ev'g", however it appears likely it was written in December, 1835 from Brighton as Mrs. Fitzherbert was expecting the arrival of Minney and her family.

Summary
Discussing her expected arrival at Brighton and telling her not to worry about getting there in time for dinner; saying "...dont worry yourself about coming here for dinner - to make you quite at yr ease I shall as well as the chicks dine at our usual hour & I will have a chicken ready for you whenever you arrive but if you do not come before nine oclock we shall all go to bed and not expect you till Friday - This I hope will put you quite at your ease - The girls are mad with joy at yr. present to them & the thoughts of going to the fair which they are to do tomorrow as it is so damp & wet today & I have thought it better not for them to go this morning;" adding, in a postscript, "I shall be delighted if you can persuade Mr. Bruce to come here."
