Summary
Wishing her a very happy birthday "...of the 23rd of this month and referring to an offer to rent Minney's house that she feels is too low "...particularly at this moment as London will be fill'd this winter from curiosity & interest - we are all very quiet & people are so sick of the Whig performance they are looking for a change for they cannot be worse off than they are - It is quite intriguing how all the press have gone away form the Whigs to the Tories - not a Syllable has transpired nor will any thing be done till the arrival of Peel who it is thought will not be able to reach England for these three weeks - nor is there any talk of a dissolution tho' I think it must be - All the K's children...have resign'd & going against the K - what ungrateful people - he has been too indulgent to them - Munster has promis'd me to hold his Tongue & keep away from them all which I hope he will do - The K & Q return to Brighton tomorrow - Adolphus is the only one that keeps with the K but his Majesty is so good [illegible] I daresay he will forgive them all - The Country detest them, they have contriv'd not only on this occasion but on all occasions to make themselves very unpopular."
