Summary
Saying she has arrived at Spa, found it so much better than she remembered and was very happy to have left Aix "...for the violent Heat & Stench of the Town was dreadful besides Tremendous Storms of thunder & lightening we had every day, the air of this place is to me quite refreshing & I mean to stay till the end of the week & then proceed to Bruxelles for a few days;" discussing her house at Brighton and the work that needs to be done to it; referring to the business with her lawyer, Mr. Forster, waiting for her when she gets to Brighton; encouraging her to stay abroad until her own house is ready and saying "I am, thank god, much better for the waters but the Bathing which was recommended to me for all my Rheumatic aches & pains certainly has done me not near so much good as I expected & the place is so odious I had not patience to stay longer at it;" mentioning the deaths of two friends in London and adding her concerns over cholera which "...alarms me very much I am not surpris'd at its being in England or indeed any where the weather has been so extraordinary all this Summer;" discussing family; adding, in a postscript, under the place and date of writing "in memorable & melancholy recollection." George IV was born on August 12th, the date of this letter.
