Summary
Thanking her for her letter confirming Fred's marriage plans; referring to the cholera epidemic and saying "we are at present thank god free from all cholera here and I really dont know any part of this country that is not affected by the sad malady"; adding "out of my own house I am as comfortable as I can be - the weather is beautiful & the sea breezes most refreshing"; expressing concern about the prospect of George going to Ireland: "The cholera raging in all parts of Ireland I think it is a pity till it is a little subsided he should risk going there"; relating social news and saying she is told her house will be finished by the end of the month "...but the smell of paint will be so odious."
