Summary
Commenting on the political situation saying "The consternation is extreme - no one knows what is to happen & from what I have heard the [illegible] are annoy'd at the Resignation of the Ministers none of them wishing to replace them in the state the Country has been put into - no one as yet is appointed - numbers are named - I shall keep my letter open till the Bell man comes for it to give you all the chit chat I can pick up - The confusion is very great particularly for all the dinner parties and invitations from the Ministers for great dinners on the Birth day which must now all be put aside - the Duke of Wellington's Ball is to take place - very properly he invited all the Ministers & their wives to meet the King - very comical proceeding - I have this moment dearest got yr kind & consoling letter - I am sorry I have tormented you with my grievances - I generally endeavour to keep them to myself but scant occurrences & Conversations made me feel anxious you sh'd know a little more of the early part of my life - few are aware of all I have had to undergo - I will defer whatever I might wish to say upon this Subject till we meet - I dare not allow myself to think about it as it renders me unfit for anything;" relating news of family and her social engagements.
