Saying that she has delayed her departure for Brighton due to poor health and relating details of the health of other family members and news of friends; adding "I have no news to send you - all the world are occupied with the horrid affairs at Bristol & it is expected something similar will soon occur here - the times are dreadful - the excitement has been so rais'd that no one seems to think it can be put down but by bloodshed - a Civil War is all we have to look to - don't fancy I am in the dismals for really & truly it is the opinion of every one."
