The letter is undated however Mrs. Fitzherbert refers to Minney's brother, George Seymour, having a new title. George Seymour was knighted on March 23, 1831. The place of writing derived from contents of the letter.

Summary
Referring to Minney's brother's new title saying "I am sure yr Brother George [Seymour] does not like his new title & therefore I shall not congratulate him on the occasion tho' I am sure he could not refuse it from the manner in which it was offer'd to him;" relating social news and news of a maid who left Mary's house and a new butler Mrs. Fitzherbert hired; saying she has not set a time to return to Town "...tho I confess I had much rather remain here than go to Tilney Street;" adding, in two postscripts, that Mary asked her to tell her that "...her Baby has got five Teeth & another coming without any trouble or Inconvenience to the Child who has not suffer'd in the least but in most perfect health. Horace I hear is here & when I return'd home this Morning for dinner I heard he had call'd but I have not seen him."
